About this course

Our GCSE maths course is a 10 month long course covering everything you need to prepare you to sit the OCR GCSE maths paper in summer 2025. The weekly lessons will be delivered online, your GCSE exams will take place in May and June at our exam centre in Sutton-in-Ashfield. You will already hold a Level 1 maths qualification.

On completion of this course you will be confident using numbers in every life; understand a range of methods to help you solve problems and use your skills to support you progress within your chosen area.

Topics covered include:

  • Number: the four operations; working with fractions, decimals, percentages; using ratio and proportion; alegbra.
  • Shape, space and measure: working with measures; calculating area and volume; understanding plan and elevation; using scale and co-ordinates; trigonometry.
  • Handling data: calculating averages; working with probability; using and drawing graphs and charts; sets and venn diagrams; sampling and data collection.
  • We will also cover exam techniques to help you achieve your qualification.

The lessons are delivered online so you will need a laptop or tablet, that can support Teams, and access to the internet. It is useful to have your own calculator, pen and notepad. A textbook will be provided to you.

Complete the booking enquiry on this page which will send you an enrolment form to complete via email. Your application will then be checked to confirm you qualify for a funded place on the course and do not already hold a maths GCSE at grade C / Level 4. Please then submit your current Level 1 maths qualification.

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course. Teams will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your application has been approved.

By enrolling on this accredited qualification, you agree to,
