Join the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies School of Theoretical Physics for their 2024 Statutory Public Lecture.
We invite the audience to enjoy that intricate dance between theoretical physics and pure mathematics over the centuries how they are constantly feeding each other new ideas whilst distinguishing between mathematical physics and physical mathematics. We shall focus especially on contemporary developments such as string theory and why this attempt of unified theory of everything is still very much relevant.
The talk will be presented by Prof. Yang-Hui He (London Institute for Mathematical Sciences). As well as being a Fellow at LIMS Prof. Yang-Hui He is a professor of physics at the University of London. He works on string theory and machine learning.
