About this Event
The Material Recycling Facility is a sorting facility not a recycling process plant. This tour will include a presentation on how household waste is managed in Suffolk and how waste streams are accepted, sorted and separated at this facility before being sent to reprocessing companies.
Tours are not suitable for anyone who is pregnant, has a pacemaker or has mobility issues that prevents them walking up and down stairs.
Tours are only available for those aged 18 and over.
Tours are not suitable for those that suffer from respiratory diseases exacerbated by dusty environments.
The Material Recycling Facility is a working site and for your own safety you must follow all site safety instructions given to you whilst on your tour. Before booking a place on this tour please be aware of the following site safety rules:
No loose items of clothing such as skirts/ dresses/ scarfs
Arms and legs must be covered
Enclosed shoes, no sandals, or heels
You must not enter any part of the facility unless accompanied by a member of the Biffa team.
Smoking is strictly prohibited on site
