About this Event

Join TCP Residents Lex Turnbull and N. Masani Landfair for Material Memory, a two-part hands-on workshop exploring papermaking, collage, and bookbinding through material transformation and tactile storytelling.

Participants will create handmade paper from pulp, fibers, organic materials, and found objects, then transform the paper into bound sculptural books through collage and simple binding techniques.

This workshop invites participants to think about paper as both a material and a vessel for memory, accumulation, repair, and experimentation.

SESSION BREAKDOWN

Session 1 — Papermaking
Participants will create handmade paper using pulp and embedded materials. Guests are encouraged to bring organic elements (leaves, fibers, flowers, etc.) or small personal materials to incorporate into their paper.

Session 2 — Bookbinding + Collage
Using the handmade paper created during Session 1, participants will explore collage and bookbinding techniques to create unique hand-bound books.
