Join us in celebrating the Caribbean Indigenous Children's Areito, dedicated to Little Mateo Palermo , for an intercultural celebration of the beauty and diversity of the Indigenous cultures of the Caribbean, the people of the Guaraguao ( Red Tail Hawk, along with our invited quests our relatives, the people of the Condor, the Eagle and the Ketzal.
We will have interactive workshops, performers, storytelling, dances, drumming, and a live stage show.
Joining us this year in the Children’s Areito will be Kasikes (Chiefs) from Boriken (Puerto Rico), Xamaika (Jamaica), and the Arawak Taino Diaspora. We will have indigenous singers and dance groups from the four directions of Turtle Island ( All of The Americas )and of course, the Indigenous Caribbean .
Save the dates of June 3-4, 2023 from 11-5:PM, and get your tickets for the live stage show early as they are going fast and space is limited.
Admission is free, but donations of any amount are welcomed and appreciated.
Come join this celebration of indigenous cultures and Areito with us and our indigenous relatives from across the Americas in Celebration of our cultures, and the honoring of our children.
There will be a Special native altar of love dedicated to the memory of all the little ones gone too soon from the circle of life as well there will be an honorable mention of the children whose lives were taken in senseless actions of gun violence.
This is a moment you do not want to miss and open for You to join us in. We ask if you wish that you bring a flower just one flower to place at the altar during Grand Entry.
We look forward to seeing you on June 3 - 4,2023 from 11-5 PM for two fun-filled days for the entire family at the Caribbean Children's Areito with the people who were the first to be called Indios (Indians)...and today are known as the Arawak Taino Peoples of the Greater Antilles, including Cuba, Hispaniola (Haiti and Dominican Republic), Jamaica, and Puerto Rico; and the Lesser Antilles, comprising all the rest of the islands.
