We are going to be holding a Matariki Event for our school and community on the 25th of June, 2024 in the community hall. It would be great to see as many of our community members as possible there. Matariki is all about gathering together, sharing with one another, acknowledging those who have passed and setting goals for the future.
Each class will be sharing a performance item with you as well as some Kapa haka items we have been working on.
We are hoping to put down a traditional hangi that can be shared on the night as well.
If you are able to help with this by either donating some time to dig the hole, or provide some of the rocks or muslin, or donate any of the Kai (pork, beef, chicken, potatoes, kumara..) that will be fantastic.
This is a community event where we can all come together to help and share.
We will be ending the evening with releasing some biodegradable, farm friendly lanterns to remember those who have passed in the last year.
