The upcoming workshop is Mata ni Pachedi a traditional textile art from Gujarat. This sacred art form created with hand-painting on cotton fabric is used in temporary shrines dedicated to the Mataji.
This guided hands-on session will introduce you to this unique art allowing you to learn the rich symbolism and stories of deities and mythological figures central to this tradition. A special feature of this art is the use of bamboo brushes which are used to create intricate designs. You'll even get to take your own beautiful Mataji artwork home with you!
