GLITTER ENDURANCE: The Long Game
A Health Hussy Workshop for Optimal Shine, Onstage & Off
All life is a stage - you should get to perform your best, and as strong and long as possible. In this quick health & vitality workshop for performers, Sweetpea shares some of her personal arsenal assembled from the last 30 years of experience as a personal trainer and therapeutic lifestyle coach, 20 years as burlesque performer with the last 12 as an internationally touring icon. From food tips for on the road, to fueling to win your own Shimmy-500, to choosing wisely for your fastest recovery (whether from raging onstage or at the after-parties), unleash the inner glimmer that will outdo all the rhinestones on your costumes.
Methodology: Introduction and context. Covering the basics of overall wellness care for the busy stripper: Eat right, Drink right, Sleep right, Move right, Breathe right, Think right, Doo right. Breaking it down a bit for daily life, prehab/rehab, pre-show and day-of show, and for the post-ragefests.
Outcome: Students will be encouraged with simple tools and steps to approach their overall wellness, and a basic guide for how to fuel and do self-care on the road, in preparation for shows, during marathong weekends, and during glitter-crash.
