A 5-lecture masterclass series with music production legend Craig Anderton, exploring craft, creativity, and staying relevant in the AI age.
About this Event

Ivy Hall Studio is hosting a rare, in-person 5-week Masterclass series with Craig Anderton, one of the most respected and prolific voices in music production, recording, and technology.

The series will be held live in Ivy Hall Studio in Inglewood on five consecutive Monday evenings in February/March 2026. There’ll be plenty of time for Q&A, and for some Masterclasses, audience participants will be invited to bring in files so Craig can demonstrate techniques in real-world scenarios.

Rather than focusing exclusively on sound quality or tools, Craig’s talks also explore what makes music truly connect: emotional impact, an artist’s unique fingerprint, modern studio techniques, and how human creators stay relevant in the age of AI. His presentations are known for being practical, provocative, and immediately usable.

This series is ideal for producers, engineers, studio owners, vocal producers, songwriters, and advanced students who want to deepen their craft—and future-proof it. This is a seated event (first come first serve) with light refreshments.

Sessions

🕑: 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM
February 16 | Make Mixes with Maximum Emotional Impact
Host: Craig Anderton

Info: Go beyond sound quality and learn how to make mixes hit harder emotionally. Craig shares practical techniques that use standard tools to create tension and release, increase intimacy, shape dynamics, and maximize energy. This masterclass blends psychology, musical intent, and modern workflow to push your mixes in new directions and keep listeners locked in.

🕑: 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM
February 23 | The Fingerprint Factor: How to Beat AI
Host: Craig Anderton

Info: AI can generate music, but it cannot create a consistent, personal artistic fingerprint. This keynote breaks down the key differences between AI-generated and human made music, dismantles the claim that AI creates like musicians do, and shows techniques to develop your own recognizable style. Leave with a clear edge and a playbook for making music humans prefer.

🕑: 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM
March 2 | Cutting-Edge Studio Tips & Tricks to Take Your Mixes to the Max
Host: Craig Anderton

Info: Stop relying on outdated studio habits when modern software can do far more. Craig reveals underused techniques that can transform how you write, mix, and master: unexpected processor uses, smarter computer-based songwriting, appropriating immersive techniques for stereo, vintage sound approaches, and why mastering is not what you think. These techniques are practical, fast, and immediately usable.

🕑: 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM
March 9 | Creating a New Musical Ecosystem (Business Orientation)
Host: Craig Anderton

Info: Modern music-making is a compatibility minefield: OS shifts, plugin formats, sample rates, levels, storage, updates, collab handoffs, and delivery specs, plus “file not found” and “plugin missing” disasters. This double header gives you a system to keep sessions stable, clients calm, and work moving fast. Then we zoom out: streaming economics, creator burnout, and the marketing treadmill, with tactics to build an artist and audience-driven model.

🕑: 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM
March 16 | The Ultimate Guide to Vocal Production
Host: Craig Anderton

Info: Vocals carry the emotional core of a song, yet heavy-handed tech often strips that out. This session shows how to use technology to make vocals feel more human, not less: what most people get wrong about pitch correction, why dynamic EQ can be a vocalist’s best friend, tools for cleaner takes, smarter alternatives to overcompression, and performance tips that improve recordings at the source.
