About this Event
MONTEPULCIANO...WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE ??...
Montepulciano (the grape, not the town/wine appellation in Tuscany...) is and has always been the flag-bearing red king of ABRUZZO, in Central-Southern italy. For centuries it was grown due to it's vigorous and high-yielding DNA (more grapes - more wine - more money). Even with a "volume" philosophy, it always satisfied & delivered juicy, dense, pleasant and lovely food-wines, especially when you took a look at the average perice tag. However, with the revolution of Abruzzo's winemaking in the last 2-3 decades, we have been blown away by how this varietal can actually lend itself to the production of dense, long-aging, complex and incredibly structured red wines, just as it does to producing some of Italy's most lucious and delicious rosé wines. MONTEPULCIANO has become an iconic "smart choice" for tough markets, recessions, all pockets and varying businesses. Regular version, Riserva, 'Colline Teramane' (DOCG) version...single vineyards...aged in oak (small and/or large), cement or only stainless steel. Released fresh with 1 year of age or at 5-6 years of ages in many cases...Montepulciano can do it all; and all it does...at a price-point that few other varietals and regions can boast.
JOIN US in Seattle for a FREE SEMINAR & TASTING on the history, origins, DNA, characteristics, geography, appellations and profiles of this incredible red varietal that has taken the international fine wine market by storm.
