Come hear and learn about the trumpet with SRSYO & SRHS Alumnus, David Green!
This masterclass is free and open to the public. We encourage all young brass players and enthusiasts to attend 🎺
A masterclass is an open lesson, during which a student performs a solo work and is coached by a master teacher. Attending audience listen and learn as observers. It is a fun and informative opportunity to see a top-flight musician and music educator share insights and techniques and to watch a student learn and grow before your eyes.
Much of the advice given in a masterclass can be applied to any instrument. Therefore, all musicians are encouraged to observe the masterclasses, regardless of the instrument they play. Please spread the word and share this message with your students, colleagues and friends!

ABOUT DAVID
Originally from the Bay Area, California, trumpeter David Green lives in New York City where he attends the Juilliard School. Green is an alumnus of the Santa Rosa Symphony Youth Ensembles and was first introduced to the joys of classical music when he joined the Debut Youth Orchestra at age 10. He was the winner of the 2018 SRSYO Concerto competition and is looking forward to playing in Weill Hall again.
Green is a founding member of the Metropolis Brass Quintet, a group that frequently concertizes in the New York City area, including performances at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Alice Tully Hall. In addition to regularly performing with the Juilliard Orchestra, he plays baroque trumpet with Juilliard415, Juilliard’s highly regarded period instrument ensemble. During his time with the ensemble, Green has toured to the UK, Scotland, Germany, and France. David has also traveled to Asia and Europe to attend various orchestral training programs.
Green is active in NYCs freelancing scene, teaches regularly, and plays solo concerts in California and New York. In his free time, David enjoys yoga, running, growing carnivorous plants, and practicing outside.
