About this Event
Out of all the Excel functions, the IF function is probably the most useful. It lets us tell Excel to look for a condition and perform one action if it is true or another action if it is false.
The IF Function doesn’t stop there, though – it will also let you count only those items in a list that meet your criteria, or let you define several criteria that can be either dependent or mutually exclusive.
This one day course uses our own Excel worksheet to take you through the different uses of the IF Function. There is plenty of scope for questions, and each section comes with a series of exercises, to let you get to grips with your new knowledge.
We look at:
· The basic IF statement
· Repeating IF statements
· The IF Function and Relative Vs Absolute addressing
· Nested IF statements
· The IFS function – Excel’s new, easier way to code
· Meeting more than one condition
· Conditions that are mutually exclusive
· COUNTIF and SUMIF – use IF to count or total only what you need to count or total, and ignore the rest.
We use a specially-designed booklet to take you through the various lessons Each lesson comes with its own practise exercises, and questions are encouraged by the tutor, who will also be on hand to help you with anything you get suck on.
The booklet is yours to keep, and the course also comes with free access for six months to our free online Excel helpdesk, so you can contact us at any point for help if you are stuck on an Excel problem.
.
Attendees may bring their own laptop, or work from one of ours, supplied on the day.
