About the Seminar
We are thrilled to invite you to a two-day Taekwon-Do Sparring Seminar led by the distinguished Master Hwang Su-il. A 7th Dan black belt in ITF-style Taekwon-Do, Master Hwang is renowned for his competitive achievements and his role as the motion capture model for the character Hwoarang in the video game Tekken 3. This seminar is an exceptional opportunity to learn from a world-class practitioner who has left a significant mark in martial arts and popular culture.
Master Hwang Su-il’s Achievements:
Born: July 31, 1970
Nationality: Japanese (of Korean descent)
Rank: 7th Dan in ITF-style Taekwon-Do
1992: ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships - Lightweight Sparring World Champion
1994: ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships - Bronze Medalist, Middleweight Division
2000: 1st Asian ITF Championships - Middleweight Champion
2010: ITF World Veteran Championships - Gold Medalist in Sparring (under 64 kg) and Patterns (6th Dan class)
Master Hwang's impressive career spans decades, with victories in both sparring and patterns at prestigious international competitions. His deep understanding of Taekwon-Do's techniques and strategies will provide invaluable insights to all participants.
Seminar Schedule
Saturday:
09:30 - 10:00: Registration
10:00 - 12:30: Seminar for all belt grades and age groups (including small children)
12:30 - 14:00: Lunch Break
14:00 - 17:00: Seminar for all belt grades, and ages from 10 years and above
Sunday:
09:30 - 10:00: Registration

Costs
Saturday Morning (Small children under 10): 30 Euros
1 Day (Saturday or Sunday): 90 Euros
2 Days (Saturday and Sunday): 160 Euros
Venue Information
The seminar will occur at Sporthalle Sandgruben, opposite the Badischer Bahnhof and near the Basel Exhibition Centre. This area is highly accessible, ensuring a convenient experience for all participants.

By Taxi/Uber: Approximately 10 minutes from EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg.
By Public Transport: Around 35 minutes from the airport, with shuttle trams and buses available directly in front of the terminal.
