Join Maine Audubon’s Land Steward for a morning filled with invasive species removal! Together we’ll work towards creating a more balanced ecosystem at Mast Landing Audubon Sanctuary in Freeport. Volunteers will serve alongside Maine Audubon staff to manually remove Asiatic Bittersweet, Multiflora rose, and Honeysuckle that continue to crowd out native plant and tree species.Volunteers can expect to hike no more than a ½ mile to a project site. Volunteers will be using a variety of hand tools that include loppers, hand saws, and W**d wrenches for root removal.
