Chemers Gallery is excited to be partnering with the Metal Arts Society of Southern California (MASSC) for their Mystery Metals Challenge for a 3rd year. This year's theme is Time. The concept of Time is something we interact with every day, but it is also something that can inspire deep thoughts and big questions about ourselves and our place in the universe. Time can be simple and straightforward or arbitrary and abstract. It will be interesting to see each artists interpretation of Time.
Tasked with making something wearable or functional from a mystery box of supplies from Rio Grande Jewelry Supply, MASSC members create the unusual. This year’s box contained a variety of supplies including Brass, Copper, Amethyst, a vintage watch crystal, silver chain & sterling silver wire. They could add any other metals & 1 wild card item. With 23 participating artisans, the Metals Challenge Exhibition will be diverse and impressive!
Participating artists include: Marla Anderson, Charlene Aspray, Teri Brudnak, LaVerne Christenson, Kathe Dunn, Kathleen Fochtman-Gambs, Bill Gallagher, Pam Greer, Nina Gibson, Loma Herf, Nakisa Heshmati, Chloe Kono, Nohline L'Ecuyer, Joseph Mcfaul, Lisa Mueller, Erin Proctor, Karen Rood, David Rodriquez, Renee Thomas, Jan Van Diver, Jean Vormelker, Kay Yee and Hiro Westdorp.
