About this Event
This workshop will focus on the implementation of mass timber within Adelaide Pointe, a multi-phased mixed-use development in Muskegon featuring two projects that utilize cross laminated timber (CLT) and glue laminated timber (glulam) as the primary structure.
Participants will get insights from the developer, designers, manufacturers, and construction team members on the inclusion of mass timber in the project, including best practices and lessons learned. Starting with the developer's viewpoint, mass timber will be discussed as one of many considerations facing today's development options, incorporating cost, sustainability, user comfort, and lasting value. From the project architect and engineer perspective, attendees will learn about the decision-making process, including acoustic design, product selection, structural load path, and biophilic gains. Lastly, attendees will hear from the mass timber product manufacturer, installer, and general contractor on topics including pre-construction planning, jobsite safety, and installation techniques.
Following the workshop, please join us for lunch and a tour of Adelaide Pointe’s six-story mass timber condominium and mass timber mixed-use buildings. Learn more about Adelaide Point on the WoodWorks Innovation Network (WIN).
