In this FREE two hour workshop, participants will learn the basics of mask contruction and papier-mâché.
About this Event

A huge part of the Fasnacht celebration are the creative and exciting masks. At our celebration, we'll be using them to frighten away Old Man Winter.

In this two hour workshop, participants will use their choice of template, whether it be an Owl, or a mask that can be modified to portray a Wolf, Fox, or Raccoon, and begin contruction of their masks. We'll be discussing other materials you can use to build up the shape of your masks, and also have a demonstration on how to create the paper mache layer that will go over the finished cardboard mask using the flour and hot water.

Participants will leave with a partially constructed mask and worksheet with instructions on how to finish before using their creative flair to decorate the mask with paints.

This workshop is FREE and all materials are provided. Ages 12+.
