Portsmouth Little Theatre is excited to announce auditions for our final show of the season, M*A*S*H. The play follows a team of doctors and support staff stationed at the "4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital" in Uijeongbu, South Korea, during the Korean War (1950–53). The cast is large and very diverse, representing doctors, nurses, patients, and residents of Korea. We are asking that if you are interested in participating in any part of this show (including tech like lights, and sound, stage hands, and set builders/decorators), please share with your friends, and plan on attending on Monday, April 21st, and Tuesday, April 22nd from 6:00pm to 8pm. PLT auditions are easy, breezy, and pain free. We’re all nervous, and we do our best to put everyone at ease. Auditions are both evenings. When you arrive at the theater at 1117 Lawson Street, the scene shop/11th Street side between 6:00pm, and 8:00pm, sign the audition sheet outside the green room. We will ask that you complete an audition sheet with details on your experience on stage, if any, and potential conflicts you may have with rehearsal, or performance dates and times. You will wait to be called to cold read from the script with other folks auditioning. If you audition Monday, you may be asked to return Tuesday, if possible, to read with attendees that evening.
If you are interested in back stage/crew only, we will still need an audition sheet with contact information, and conflicts. When your name is called, just come to the stage to speak to the director.
Dates to be available:
Rehearsals: every effort is made to take into consideration everyone’s schedule to hold rehearsals. Rehearsals will be held 2 - 3 weeknights a week in the beginning. Not every cast and crew member will be called for every rehearsal. Toward the end of the rehearsal process, rehearsals may increase and dates may be added to weekend rehearsals. The final week before your first performance, is called Tech Week. This week will require every cast member to attend every night from Monday, June 9 through Thursday June 12. Rehearsals will run later than usual this week.
