MASCARAS is more than just a stencil art workshop. It will allow participants to tap into the faces of their identity and the meaning of the colors we chose to associate with.
**BLACK HISTORY MONTH**
Acknowledging Black Wrestlers that have taken on MASCARAS within their persona past or present .
Darius Martin FKA "AIRWOLF" "“So, one thing with me is, I really like to be innovative. I like to show people things they haven’t necessarily seen before. So, if it’s a move I think I’ve seen before — something as signature as the 619 is obviously related to Rey Mysterio. Whenever you think of it, you think of Rey Mysterio. Not that I’m trying to not make them think of Rey Mysterio because usually I do call that move the Mysteri-low,” he laughed. “But I definitely like to be innovative. I do a couple of other moves. Like I do a step-through Shooting Star Press that I call the ‘Lunar Eclipse’ so I really just try to innovate so that’ll help me stand out in the long run.” (Post Wrestling 2019 )
"TaigaStyle " Lee Moriarty "TAIGASTYLE is a combination of all these things that inspired me. I remember when I got into wrestling, I didn’t really have an idea of who I wanted to be. I just wanted to be a wrestler. So for a while, I didn’t have my own unique identity, my own personality I’ve just okay wrestler for being young. I was mentioned earlier, I went to Mexico. Originally, I wanted to be a masked wrestler. I wanted to be a Luchador. My trainers were like, you’re not doing that. You can’t hide your face. So I went to Mexico, I came back, and then I talked to somebody down there about getting masks made and I would wear these masks during my entrances. This was my way of compromising with my trainers."

The Stock Paper/ CANVAS represents our Public Persona, the MASCARA that is shown to the world.
The Mask Stencil Designs (AIR WOLF, LEE MORIATY ) will have two stencils .
The blank mask stencil represents Close Acquaintances , the MASCARA that is shown to close friends and family
The stitching stencil represents Alone , the MASCARA that is only revealed when one is alone.
The colors selected give life to those personas.
