About this Event
In 2022, the State of Maryland made a bold investment in makerspaces with the passage of SB453, the Maryland Makerspace Initiative Program, which provides $5M over five years to "expand or establish" makerspaces in the state. This legislation immediately established Maryland as a national leader in creating a publicly-funded makerspace network.
TEDCO and Open Works are proud to host the first annual Maryland Makerspace Meetup on April 4th and 5th, 2024. Please find the draft agenda here.

In order to make this as accessible as possible, tickets are a pay-what-you-can donation. The virtual programming is free, but if you plan to attend the 2nd day of the conference we ask that you please consider a minimum donation of $50/person to cover lunch ($20), a workshop fee ($20), and transportation for the makerspace tour ($10).
Coming out of this meetup, we hope to have established a steering committee to work on a charter and bylaws for a makerspace association as well as some working groups for specific projects.
