Mary Cisper:
Mary Cisper once demonstrated thixotropy – viscosity that changes when touched -- to a group of poets. Her science background, random life incursions, and awe were resources for her chapbook, The Particles (Thixotropic Press). Dark Tussock Moth (Trio House), her full-length collection, was inspired by a Google Doodle on the 17th century artist and naturalist Maria Sibylla Merian. Her poems and reviews have appeared in Terrain, Colorado Review, Denver Quarterly, Interim, Oversound, and elsewhere.
David Mutschlecner:
David Mutschlecner is the author of seven books of poetry, most recently Slow Closing of the Opening Chapter, from Thixotropic Press. His work is often seen in the journal New American Writing. Mutschlecner is interested in relationships between poetry and philosophy, in connections between thinkers who may at first seem far apart, but maintain a secret similitude. Metaphor, as the inherent similarity in dissimilars, is both a creative and a cosmic energy. Poetry is a sounded-out movement toward union.
C Pirloul:
C’s poetics have one foot rooted in her formative years within the Bay Area Arts scene of 1970s-90s: ritual, performance, environmental installation and synesthesiac embodiment practices develop the forms, that invite words, that become poems... with the other foot firmly planted in 40 years’ study and practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu (a Japanese hands-on art of harmonizing the energetic ecosystem within the body, which she’s taught internationally since 2001). C is a card-carrying member of the Northern New Mexico Long Poem Study Group. Her poems can be found in the doubleheader chapbook, 7 Cervicals / Riga Pine, (Thixotropic Press, 2023), Interim (print and online), Lana Turner, Volt, The Santa Fe Telepoem Booth, Portland Review, and online at www.cpirloul.net.
