Marvin is known as ‘the young man with the old soul’. He is a wonderful singer, with a beautiful bass-baritone voice. It’s rich, deep and smooth! Marvin brings the songs and sounds of mid-20th century jazz to modern listeners of all ages in the 21st century. This is jazz as it is supposed to sound. Fresh as the day it was composed! Marvin is also a fine trumpet player and composer. Be ready to be blown away!
For those of you who haven’t seen Marvin before, you might be thinking that he sounds familiar. That’s because he is! He has been on your television screens many times before, as a contestant on The Voice UK and as a semi-finalist on Britain's Got Talent in 2018. Since then, Marvin has been stretching his musical wings, and is a spectacular international jazz sensation! Marvin is a treat, a passionate vocalist, and with a wonderful, engaging presence, and we have him all to ourselves for one special night! Marvin will be joined by the Smokey Joe’s awesome jazz house band, with the barefoot energy, flying socks and passion of Alex Steele on piano; the mighty groove merchant, Mike Cypher on drums and the beautifully melodic, lyrical, eloquent and effervescent, ‘Moyk’ Green on double bass.
