Marvin Brown is a beloved son of Bristol – a former Bristol City record-breaker, making his debut at just 16 years old, and now a highly respected UEFA A Licence football coach who has inspired generations with his passion, humility and love for the game.
Marvin has faced serious health battles over the years, including ulcerative colitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), yet he has always remained positive, strong and full of gratitude. Even after life-changing surgery in 2022, he continued coaching, working hard and being a devoted husband and dad.
In Sept 2025, Marvin received devastating news – he has cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive bile duct cancer that has spread. At just 42 years old, he is now receiving end-of-life care. With no life insurance due to pre-existing medical conditions, his wife Alexis and their two young daughters (aged 11 and 8) are now facing emotional and financial uncertainty.
This event brings the community together to celebrate Marvin’s life, his love for football and his incredible spirit – and to raise funds to support his family with funeral costs, household bills and memory keepsakes for his girls.
