Following their completely sold out tour of the UK last month, Manchesterās most in demand band, Maruja, announce a huge 40 date tour across Europe and the UK this Autumn, taking in Londonās Village Underground on the 14th November and Manchesterās Gorilla on 29th November. The announcement follows the release of their sophomore EP āConnlaās Wellā, which has seen the band skyrocketed to one of the most talked about new bands in the country, with BBC 6Music playlisting the single āThe Invisible Manā and inviting the band to play a live session at Maida Vale.
Artists in the truest sense of the word, Marujaās ferocious combination of punk, harsh noise, and transcendent cosmic jazz is winning fans at an extraordinary rate. Driven not just by passion but rather an all-consuming need to create and perform with a visceral intensity, they are both electrifying and terrifying.
New EP āConnlaās Wellā is a 5 track collection and the definition of a body of work, opening with the instrumental title track, which swells into āThe Invisible Manā, a profound examination of the mental health crisis set against a mystical backdrop that effortlessly moves between cosmic jazz and break-beat-punk. The frantic Zeitgeist follows, with the groupās hardcore influences coming to the fore. Last yearās blistering single āOne Hand Behind The Devilā is next, before the EP is brought to an almost meditative close with the sublime āResisting Resistanceā.
Marujaās debut EP āKnocknareaā ended last year as the No.1 rated EP on RateYourMusic, whilst Anthony Fantano included the release in his 2023 Top 3 EPs. Their breathtaking live show has seen the band selling out Supersonic in Paris, The Temple in Athens, Camdenās Underworld and an entire UK tour.
