Well, this is embarrassing. After telling people I was going to "semi-retire" I have been enticed back into performing some more...feeling a little bit like Cher. ;-) Minus the long hair, surgery and boyfriends. Not cracking on Cher, btw. She has retired and come back a coupla times. How does she do it?
At any rate, you can see Marty Winkler & Friends at OCAF in Watkinsville on October 4, 2025. They are doing a really fun new performing series. You can go check out the new pottery exhibit and then come hear us sing and play. Doors open at 6:30 and we will begin playing tasty covers, some jazz, some originals and at least one truly old blues song.
Neil Golden (who lives up to his name) and Mike Merva (who is mervelous) are playing piano and bass respectively. Debbie Hardegree will be there doing her glorious backup vocals and we may have one more singer on the bill - someone who has just retired from her day job and is plunging back into performing more ...waiting to hear from Mystery Girl.
So, save the date. It's Homecoming, so start out early so that you will get to hear the whole show. What can I say? I love this town... (And the one next door. And the one next to that...)
