Martin Verrall and The Void is comprised of musicians who were part of the '90s Hamilton Music Scene. It saw the resurgence of indie, garage, shoegaze and goth influences. Sonic experimentation exploded around the hub of 45 Hess Street/Blue Tilt Studio, Local Bars & Nightclubs, abandoned warehouse art scenes, all impacting one another.
"The songs on this album were written nearly 30 years ago and hidden away on live cassette tapes while the storms of life passed over the band members. Much like my own band's experience in Simply Saucer...until these tapes resurfaced 20 years after they were lost...following careful consultations with one another The Void decided to re-record the songs in a studio environment, landing first at The Killing Floor with maestro house engineer Tom Lawlor, and eventually enlisting the help of Blue Tilt Studio whiz, Dan Zivkovic to coordinate the project, mix and master it.
The result is a triumph with bona fide Canadian Cult vibes that enchant me with each new listen. "Shadow Work" is a stone-cold classic. The Void's trajectory is about to sweep upwards, and I'm honored to be part of their new unveilance. Listen up." -- Edgar Breau (Simply Saucer)
