A lecture series that examines the key events of the US Civil Rights Movement between 1954 and 1970.
About this Event

This set of lectures examines one of the most critical political/social movements in US history: the African American Civil Rights movement. We will be doing this by exploring the lives of Martin Luther King, Mary Lou Hamer, and Malcolm X and the critical events associated with them including the Montgomery Bus Boycott, marches in Selma, the Freedom Summer, the Freedom Democratic Party, the rise of the Nation of Islam and the transition from non-violence to more overt forms of confrontation.
