Tompkins Corners is thrilled to welcome Martha Spencer and her Wonderland Country Band to our stage. After catching their live performance in Cold Spring last fall, we knew we had to bring them to TCCC for this spring’s tour.
Martha is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and dancer from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Raised in the renowned Spencer family, she mastered guitar, fiddle, banjo, bass, dulcimer, and mandolin at a young age, along with flatfooting and clogging. She has performed at festivals, concerts, and workshops across the U.S., UK, Canada, Europe, and Australia and appeared in the documentary Fiddlin’.
Her debut solo album (2018) and latest release, Wonderland (2022), have been widely praised. “Rolling from the mountains of Virginia, Spencer provides an update on the high lonesome sound, blending equal parts country and bluegrass with a high-flying rockabilly sensibility.” - Austin Chronicle, Americanafest
Led by Spencer, the Wonderland Country Band includes Jamie Collins on bass/vocals, Lucas Pasley on fiddle/banjo/vocals, and Jake Dwyer on percussion/washboard/dance.
Martha’s spring tour began in Virginia on February 1st, with stops in London, North Carolina, and Kentucky before arriving at Symphony Space in NYC—then right here with us the next night.
Tickets may also be purchased at the door. Refreshments, including beer and wine, will be available by donation.
