About this Event
Participants will help us clean the marshlands & beach of man made debris and learn about importance of marsh grasses as we discuss decreases in marshlands and the ways that CCE is working to restore them.
The cold winter months are ideal for cleaning deep into the marshes as the grasses have not started to grow, ticks & mosquitos for the most part are not active and before spring wildlife activity increases.
Removal of the litter and debris will improve water quality and habitat for fish, shellfish, shorebirds, wading birds, waterfowl, as well as rare species including the saltmarsh sparrow, diamondback terrapin and the snowy owl.
Don't forget to wear waterproof shoes, bring your own gloves, bucket and any other tools that will help. Let's work together to keep our marsh clean and thriving!
