Learn practical techniques of lighting, composition, angles, and visual storytelling unique to live music photography in the immersive environment of the MV Music Festival.
In this workshop, we will discuss the tricks of the trade in the music photography space and you will have the opportunity to build your visual portfolio and personal archive.

This workshop is accessible to beginners- all levels of experience welcome.
Please bring your own device- DSLR cameras or smartphones, IPads, film cameras accepted.
This workshop will be 3 hours and outdoors, please wear a hat and comfortable shoes.
Bring a water bottle and snack, wear comfy clothes and bring a hat and sunscreen.

Workshop structure:
This workshop will begin with introduction and interactive presentation in the Marrickville Pavillion, after which we will venture to the festival to put our learning into practice. Returning to the library we will reflect and share our work.
About the facilitator:
JACK MORAN is a Sydney based music photographer and event organiser. Documenting the Australian music scene since 2017, Jack has jumped between grassroots venues, photo studios and national festivals creating photographs that capture a healthy and bustling scene. His passion lies in the creation of a collective archive that when paired with music gives an honest perspective of music culture in Australia.
Accessibility info:
MARRICKVILLE PAVILION AND LIBRARY is accessible by lift from both the street and ground levels. The venue is accessible for people using wheelchairs and other mobility aids. This workshop will also be running in the festvial setting which may not be as readily acessible.
