Marriage, Same Sex Marriage and Divorce Issues in Real Estate (1 hour) - Texas is a community property state, so this course starts with a discussion of community and separate property. When a marriage is ended by divorce, both types of property must be dealt with in a divorce decree. How property is dealt with in a transaction after divorce is based on the wording in the divorce decree.
Probate Issues in Real Estate Transactions - #49029 (1 hour) - When a property owner passes away, their interest in real estate passes to a devise under a probated will, or an heir under the Texas laws of Intestacy. This course reviews both options, and discusses who needs to be a party to the sale of inherited property.
