70th ANNIVERSARY OF BROWN VS. BOARD OF EDUCATION OF TOPEKA, KANSAS
The Maroon team in partnership with Urban League of Louisiana, BeNOLA, NOLAPS, and Baldwin Bookstore will host the 1st Annual Brown Symposium - highlighting the 70th Anniversary of Brown vs. Board of Education. The first annual event will highlight the obvious and subtle shifts that occured immediately following the Brown ruling as well as the impacts that are felt today in our schools and communities. With the Brown ruling as our through line, during the moderated conversations, experts will help us to understand how economic and social repercussions that happened during the Civil Rights era in a number of ways reconnect back to the Brown case.
