THE TALENT
Big Joe - Bass
Joe has been playing bass for almost 50 years, he's a veteran of the Houston Music Scene since
the late 80's, he started his career in Maryland playing the East Coast club/college circuit until he
moved to Houston in 1984. He's played all genres; styles, toured; recorded will local,
regional; national acts over the years. Besides bass, he also plays guitar (acoustic ; electric)
piano/keyboards. And he's the newest member of the Marmon/Boedecker...
Tom Dorman is the drummer. His favorite pastime is hanging out with musicians. When asked to
spell Mississippi, he asked, 'The river or the state?' His favorite quote is, 'Do you want me to
play too slow or too fast?'
Paul Boedeker performs on guitar, mandolin, vocals and bass. Paul and Mark have been playing
music for several years as a duo before forming the band with the others. Both of them have
played with several other bands throughout their careers. Paul has released three recordings
and is working on more.
Mark Marmon performs on 6, 12 string guitar, resonator, cuatro, harmonica and vocals. He
has two released recordings and his songs have been covered by other country artists. Mark is a
nationally recognize songwriter having performed from Texas to Montana to New York City.
George Adams, lead guitar is a native Houstonian and has played in several bands in Houston
and Austin. These include earlier rock bands; club bands , including major charity events
Christian rock bands and finally with the Marmon Boedeker Band
THE BAR
Opened in November 2020, Cowboy Surfer is a casual bar in Memorial City, Houston keeping its namesake culture alive through drinks, eats, live music and art.
