As Marlin’s Dreaming prepares to release the highly anticipated full-length album Hasten, they will take it on the road this spring, playing it to audiences across Aotearoa’s four main centres including an all ages show at Auckland’s Powerstation.
A new Auckland date has been released due to Covid-19 rescheduling.
Marlin’s Dreaming - Hasten album release tour
Friday 08 Oct Dunedin Dive
Saturday 09 Oct Christchurch Loons
Friday 19 Nov Auckland Powerstation* (All Ages)
Saturday 20 Nov Wellington Lacuna
Auckland’s favourite indie guitar-pop four-piece Daffodils, have been announced as special guests for the duration of the tour.
Some good headphones and a steaming hot cuppa may be a perfectly great way to enjoy the new album, but Marlin’s Dreaming is excited to really bring it to life on stage — where bedroom pop anthems like Lumia can take on new light under the glow of a crowd.
With each successive album, Marlin’s Dreaming has shown they are a band that’s unafraid of change, and in Hasten (the soft-spoken cousin to its more derelict predecessor, Quotidian) audiences will hear the next evolution in their music.
Marlin’s Dreaming is an Ōtepoti four piece band formed by close friends, Semisi Maiai (vocals, guitar), Hamish Morgan (drums), and Oscar Johns (bass guitar), and later joined by De Stevens (guitar). Their debut album, Lizard Tears, arrived in 2017 propelling a series of projects.
Released on October 1st, Hasten is an album a long time in the making, the product of countless demos and some introspective lockdown periods, before being finally mixed & recorded at Chicks Hotel in Koputai (Port Chalmers), Ōtepoti, earlier this year.
