About this Event
Using Ploughshares’ social media presence and newsletters, the acclaimed literary journal based at Emerson College, previous Marketing Associate and current Ploughshares reader Ciera Miller will lead a workshop teaching authors how to market themselves and their work in the digital age. Participants will learn how to build an online brand, write copy that’s both personal and professional, and how to interact with an online audience in a meaningful way by building out their own promotional plan. The session will conclude with sharing out about authors’ plans, and participants will leave ready to start promoting themselves in digital spaces.
Part of "The Ploughshares Master Class Series at the Writer’s Room of Boston", this event is part of a five-week series for emerging and established writers alike. Each generative workshop riffs off an archival Ploughshares literary piece, inviting participants to engage directly with the journal’s rich history while creating new work of their own. Led by editors, poets, designers, and marketers from the Ploughshares community, sessions combine close reading, guided prompts, discussion, and optional sharing in a supportive space. Writers across genres will leave with fresh drafts and practical craft tools.
