About this Event
Effective crop and land planning are essential tools for any farmworker, gardener, grower or landworker. Also applicable to anyone working complex natural systems and organisation. The day will be packed full of design tools and insights needed to run a successful project. We will focus on horticulture and planning for crops and land patterns, but hope this will also be incredibly useful for other growers and gardeners. Simple management and maintenance tools can make the world of difference and allow the busy season to unfold, minimising last minute stress or contant rushing around. It also links to successful enterprise and project planning and gives confidence in carrying out the plan, inputting into calendars and propagation plans.
This workshop includes the following topics:
- Learn to create a basic crop plan & rotation
- Understand the importance and practice of crop planning
- Mapping into reality and implementing a plan
- Developing sowing, growing and implementation plans and calendars
- Using simple online and organisational tools
- take home templates and spreadsheets
We hope you can join this learning day on the land at middel ground growers! We will mix up the day and include a farm walk and activities to bring the crop plans and theory to life. A delicious lunch from the land will be served 1pm as usual.
We have sliding scale ticket pricing options available, with supported tickets for low income individuals or new entrant growers. Please get in touch if you have any dietary or other needs for the workshops! We look forward to welcoming you to the farm and taking the regenerative leap together!
