Mark Lipman’s profoundly rich and tender vocals may be the first thing to grab you, but his mix of soberingly honest and dream-inspired lyrics will keep you returning for more. A Boston local, he has been exploring the power of songwriting and performance for decades in the Cambridge/Somerville scene, notably performing regularly at the esteemed Club Passim, among other local venues. His 2022 release The Glimmer, co-produced with Dave Brophy, has been described as “a beautiful piece of art…so very strong and inspiring,” (James Rohr of The Blue Ribbons). An album about reclaiming the story of his mental health apart from the pathological lens of Western psychiatry, he exhibits a zeal for storytelling and healing that is unique and impactful. His newest release Mosaic Things (January 2026) brings language to the complex and under-explored terrain of masculinity at large and relationships between men (queer and straight) from the perspective of a gay man. The organic and powerful songs offer a poignant look into the intersection of historical trauma, longing, queer joy, and co-liberation. Join Mark and his band (and special guests) to celebrate the release of Mosaic Things at the Lizard Lounge March 20th.

Samantha Farrell is a Boston-based musician and vocalist whose sound is a gorgeously moody fusion of jazz, alt R&B and pop. Once described as “the best singer-songwriter you’ve never heard of,” by NBC Los Angeles, Farrell has always been understated in her approach to her music career - but, those who are in the know, have been quietly dazzled with her unique voice, rhythmic subtleties and tonal nuance for years.
Samantha started her career in Los Angeles where she released her first album “Spiritus.” In 2008, she caught the ear of LeRoi Moore, the saxophonist of the Dave Matthews Band, who was in the midst of producing and developing her next album in Charlottesville, VA when he suddenly passed away, and in October 2009, “Luminous” was independently released. Through word of mouth alone, the album charted No. 7 on the national pop iTunes charts. She has since followed that up with two EPs, “In Between Stories” (2010) and “Softly Swooning World” (2013), with her latest album, “September Sun” (2016) being voted as one of WUMB radio’s Top 10 albums of 2016.
