Mark Jacobson has been a leading voice for blues broadcasting on KSCU 103.3 FM in Santa Clara, California. Since launching his first program in 1986, he has hosted Jakester’s Sunday Blues Brunch, now a four-hour tradition that continues to showcase both classic and contemporary blues.Jacobson has interviewed many of the genre’s most respected artists, including Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Albert Collins, and Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. His deep musical knowledge and commitment to the craft have inspired and trained numerous blues DJs, several of whom now host their own programs.
Beyond KSCU, he has contributed to Living Blues magazine’s Hot 25 Blues Report since 1995 and actively promotes live blues throughout the Bay Area. A frequent festival collaborator and emcee, Mark Jacobson remains a dedicated ambassador for the genre, ensuring its enduring presence on air and in the community.
