Blues harmonic master Mark Hummel returns to The Back Room, with an all-star line-up featuring Steve Freund, Gary Silva, and Kedar Roy,
About this Event

is renowned for producing The Blues Harmonica Blowouts (featuring luminaries like Mayall, Musselwhite, Huey Lewis, Lee Oskar, and Magic Dick) for 30 years, which included Cotton in seven national tours as part of that event. James Cotton once remarked, "Mark is All About The Music." Mark holds a Grammy nomination from 2013, two Blues Music Awards, and boasts an impressive repertoire of 30 albums. His newest CD is True Believer, which charted at #2 & #4 on Blues Radio Charts.

Steve Freund on guitar (known for collaborations with Boz Scaggs, Sunnyland Slim, Koko Taylor, Lonnie Brooks, Otis Rush, Bo Diddley, and a 12-year stint alongside James Cotton). Steve is a Delmark Recording artist. 

Kedar Roy is an upright bassist who has played with Earl Thomas, Kim Wilson, Jr Watson, Aki Kumar and many more.

Gary Silva has an extensive resume as a top-notch drummer, having played with Mick Taylor, John Lee Hooker, Charlie Musselwhite, Mark Naftalin’s R&B Revue, Ron Thompson, Buddy Guy & Jr Wells, and five yrs with Elvin Bishop.

Tickets are $30 general admission. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show.

Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door.

The Back Room is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space, dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds. You are welcome to bring your own food and beverages. The venue is ADA accessible. If you need more information or have any questions, please call us: #510-381-1997.
