MARK BRUT
THE WOODCELLAR
The 'Cellar is fortunate to be able to announce an intimate evening with Mark Brut! We've worked with him in a plethora of projects over the years (The Sneaky Bastards,Ignatius Reilly, et. al.), and cannot wait until he delivers his message to you from our stage for a "dinner-set" Wednesday night in May! This will be a fantastic evening filled with quality song and musicianship!
Mark's Bio:
"There are those musicians who can’t help but write about what they know… what they have experienced. Mark Brut certainly fits that mold.
Originally from just outside of Philadelphia and now base, Mark Brut spent many years in the south, mainly in Atlanta and the great music town of Athens, GA, before relocating to Denver in 2009. He maintains strong roots to his hometown, but has also absorbed much of the music and culture that the vibrant music scenes in Georgia and Colorado have to offer.
Mark has fronted and played in numerous bands over the years back to his Philly dates, most notably as a current member of The Sneaky Bastards and Ignatius Reilly in Denver. He was a part time touring member of Outformation and fronted Loose Cannon and Easy Trucking Company in Atlanta. He plays in the annual sold out Last Waltz Revisited shows in Denver and Boulder along with 50+ of Colorado’s finest musicians.
Mark’s songwriting continually touches on the same subjects…how your experiences mold you as a person, finding hope and dealing with disappointment in these crazy times, and trying to make sense of “what you do and what you see.” Songs such as “The Sky’s All Mine”, “High Country” and “Ways and Means” certainly fall in these categories.
Beyond the songs, Mark’s strength lies in his guitar playing. While performing solo acoustic or electric in a band setting, Brut’s passion for life bleeds over into his playing. The diversity of his influences also is evident as you hear him play.
Brut is also powerful as a cover artist, drawing from many different artists and making the songs his own"
