Marjorie Jones is a local Hillcrest Artist, who currently works mainly in Oil paint. Marjorie is a second generation artist and her Father was the well known sculptor, Buck Jones. Marjorie is a multifaceted artist who has over the years has worked in wood, clay, crochet, jewellery making and printmaking. You can see Marjorie's love for the three dimensional in her paintings, as they almost become three dimensional through her use of multi layered and textured surfaces. Marjorie loves portraiture and her bold graphic portraits are mainly of the people she sees around her or friends who she bases her caricatures on. Marjorie was a long time volunteer at Woza Moya in our ceramics department and assisted the ceramic group to earn an income through the making of wonderful ceramics. We are delighted to have a second exhibition of Marjories latest work in the Woza Moya upstairs gallery, the opening will be on friday, at 2, Marjorie and family will be there to open the exhibit.
