The Marine Forum is SMASS&WDC's annual knowledge exchange event, bringing together researchers, citizen scientists, industry, NGO’s, and general enthusiasts of the marine environment and conservation. This event is open to anyone with an interest in marine conservation and science; you don’t need to be an expert, academic or working in the sector to attend.Marine Forum 2025 Focus
This year we are focusing on what communities, NGO employees, industry and scientists need to do to support change to better protect the Scottish marine environment.
Through a series of talks and interactive sessions, we will dive into discussions and demonstrate how different types of evidence are collected, assessed, combined, communicated and used in decision-making and conservation efforts.
Marine Forum Agenda
The full agenda will be released in the new year.
But as in previous years - the morning programme will see a series of talks, and we will be holding "interactive sessions" for the afternoon programme. In these interactive sessions, a number of experts will have space to set up a “display station”, which the attendees will have the chance to visit, ask questions, and generally mingle.
To end there will be a panel discussion and as usually plenty of time to allow for networking and catching up with others dedicated to marine science and conservation.
