Please join us for the 6th annual Marine Corps Marathon Running Event benefitting the The Marine Corps League detachment 1058.
We will be back in Pompano but this time at Pavilion 1. Paid parking is available right in front of pavilion #1. National Anthem will be at 4:55am and runners will depart at 5:00am.
Runners are invited to run any distance they like and enjoy the festivities after they finish. If a runner is looking to complete a marathon or 50K distance they are encouraged to to register for the virtual event at www.marinemarathon.com
As many of you know this is the 50th Anniversary of the Marine Corps which will be ran in Washington D.C. For this special event a few of us will be running 100 miles. If anyone would like to join us please contact me privately for details. We will run 69 miles down to the start and run the final 50k on the course. Buckles will be awarded to all finishers of the 100 mile distance for a small fee and are customer made Brie.
In keeping up with tradition and values of the Marine Corps Marathon their will be a Marine present to give a final salute and present medals for all runners who complete the Marathon, 50K , or 100 mile distance. Runners must provide their own medals.
The course is a gentle 5.20 my loop running from the pavilion up to the Hillsboro inlet bridge where runners will turn around and run back to the end of Briny Blvd and back to the pavilion making that one loop.
We will have food and beer for a donation to the Marines. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Marines of detainment 1058.
