In the literature of Soviet suffering, there may be no pages more powerful than the cycle of poems by Anna Akhmatova entitled “Requiem.” With poems far tighter and more powerful than any history, Anna Akhmatova brings readers in with colour, emotion, and confession. Marina Rosca, whose family lived through the time of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Moldova, will give a public reading of Requiem at Quay Books on Thursday 24th October at 7.30 pm. ,
