Join us on our collective journey to learn about, plant, and appreciate cempasuchil (marigolds) in time for Dia de los Muertos. Come out to the farm and sow cempasuchil seeds with us!Querida familia, join us in planting cempasuchil for the October and November festivals. This year, Dia de Los Muertos and Diwali coincide!
Join us for our kickoff event for cempasuchil season! We will come together as a community to bless the land, send off our semillas on their journey, and learn and share with each other. This project is a collaborative effort between @losacramento.cv, @marigoldsociety, @norcal_resist, @solcollective and YOU, with the goal of getting cempasuchil into the hands of the community. This event is FREE to the public, a light lunch will be provided. We hope you will join us on this journey from planting through harvest.
Our Mission
Marigolds for the Movement emerged from the need for ethically sourced marigolds for Dia de Los Muertos. We believe our ancestors deserve to be honored with intention, and that everyone has the right to connect with cempasuchil. Our goal is to connect people with the sacred flower by encouraging others to build relationships with the plant and to grow them, whether with us or in their own spaces.
We want to continue the legacy of our ancestors by learning from our plant relatives and incorporating their wisdom into our practices. Our relationship with the cempasuchil is deeply rooted in traditions, rituals, ceremonies, recipes and our cultural ways that honor both the land and our heritage. We are keeping our ancestral wisdom alive by sharing our stories, our collective knowledge, our relationships, and our experiences. Through marigolds for the movement, we aim to cultivate a deeper connection to our history, our roots and our community.
