About this Event
We are honored to have Patrick Barry, the renowned biographer of Makaya’s upcoming book as our keynote speaker. Additionally, two esteemed foundation members from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Director Carin Makaya and Secretary Henoc Mbala, will be joining us. They will share their perspectives on the recent peace deal between Congo and Rwanda, discussing both its successes and failures. Most importantly, they will talk about conditions in Congo and the impact that has on the orphanage and the children.
We believe that while this deal is a step toward peace, it unfortunately overlooks the significant injustices of the war, including the use of rape as a weapon of war.
