Originally from Mexico, Maria grew up with a passion for dance and has been a leader in the fitness industry since 1996. With over 27 years of experience teaching group fitness classes, you're guaranteed to be in the best hands.
Maria is one of the original Zumba Education Specialists, playing a pivotal role in bringing Zumba to Australia in 2009. Known affectionately as our "Zumba Mama," she has trained over 10,000 Zumba instructors, inspiring countless fitness journeys.
A true pioneer, Maria was inducted into the AusActive Roll of Honour for her outstanding contributions to Australia’s fitness industry. She has also been a featured presenter at the Zumba Fitness Convention, as well as at numerous conferences and workshops.
Now living in New Zealand with her family, Maria is thrilled to reunite with her Brisbane Zumba family in 2025. Her classes are fun, easy to follow, effective, traditional Zumba, and filled with sass and infectious energy—you don’t want to miss this!
