Margaret Dwyer Workshop: The Fall Garden In WatercolorSaturday, October 4th from 9:30am-2:30pm

The fall garden includes a splendid variety of flowers, fruit, and vegetables unique to the season. Sunflowers, gladiolus, peppers, tomatoes, apple tree branches…whatever is in bloom or ready to harvest will be our inspiration. Set up your own fall still life or examine individual specimens in depth to reveal the patterns and textures inside. The fall palette is a rich one. Deep purples and crimson, glowing golds, greens, and reds. We will focus on making informed color choices (transparent vs. opaque), and mixing clean, vibrant colors. Demonstrations of brushwork and techniques will be ongoing throughout our painting process. Understanding the timing of techniques is essential to get the most out of this wonderful medium. Feel free to bring in treasures from your garden to add to the cornucopia of samples and references that will be on hand. This class will offer challenges to all levels of painters.
