About this Event
Margam Castle was built between 1830-1840 on a vast 850 acre country estate. As it stands, this beautiful gothic castle is actually relatively new in history however the land itself has been in use for a lot longer and is thought to have been occupied for around 4000 years.
There is evidence that Bronze age people settled in the area, with several burial mounds being discovered in the park and evidence of Roman occupation has also been found. The ruins of the 11th Century Margam Abbey can also be found within the grounds.
A brutal M**der took place near the castle with the gamekeeper being shot in the face and shoulder by a poacher. The gamekeeper managed to reach the castle before he succumbed to his horrific injuries. It is reported that the ghastly image of the poor disfigured man has been seen, still angry about the way his life was taken.
The sounds of children have also been heard running and playing within the castle along with the mysterious sounds of a woman crying from the enormous dining room.
The cannot wait to investigate this stunning gothic castle with our fabulous guests. What will we encounter when we go "into the shadows" of this incredible location?
