We’re continuing our Mardi Cinéma cycle with another essential classic of the Nouvelle Vague: Les 400 coups (1959) by François Truffaut, starring the unforgettable Jean-Pierre Léaud.
🎥 Les 400 coups
A deeply moving and intimate portrait of childhood and rebellion. Antoine Doinel, a misunderstood Parisian boy, struggles with neglect at home and strict discipline at school. As he drifts into truancy and petty crime, his quiet search for freedom leads him toward inevitable consequences.
Blending realism with emotional sensitivity, Truffaut captures the loneliness, restlessness, and fragile hope of youth. A landmark film of the Nouvelle Vague, Les 400 coups remains one of the most poignant and enduring coming-of-age stories in cinema history.
🎙️ Special Guest: A cinema expert will join us for a discussion after the screening.
